I'm new to the forum. I bought a 91 Sea Ray 185 BR and as much of you assume, the transom was rotted. I've replaced the wood and got the shop to put the motor back in but they suck!! Found all kinds of wires not hooked up so I am slowly going over all the wiring schematics. I have found everything I need but I can Not find the transom ground buss and where/what those grounds go to. Can someone please help out.

TIA

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... With boats bein' plastic, every appliance needs a ground path, so mount a buss bar, 'n ground it to the motor's block, 'n use it to ground anything that don't work, without it,....

I have notice that the fuel gauge no longer works, I'm assuming one is for that. Also the other thing that does not work is the depth finder. There are 2 ground wires that are not hooked up. Do not know where they go though.

Ayuh,..... The fuel tank, should have a Bonding wire, which ties the fuel fill fitting, to the tank, to the motor's block,.....
The fuel gauge sender should have a ground wire to ground,.....
The 2 other wires, I have no idea, but if they're black ground wires, ground 'em out,....
To many grounds is never a problem,.....

Also the fluid in the trim reservoir is milky. I know typically hydraulic fluid is not meant to be that way, means it's absorbed water. I want to make sure my logic is correct and I should flush out the system or there is fluid for boats that is that color.

Ayuh,..... Probably water,..... The oil could be red, if Atf is used, or amber if light motor oil or hyd. oil was used,.....

I'd flush it out, 'n go fresh oil,....
