Well I noticed that on my whaler someone had installed some sort of transom liner. It fits over top of the transom and goes between the outboard and boat. It is made out of rubber. I noticed it was missing some rubber so I removed it. Has anyone ever seen one of these and what is the purpose?
Thanks

Re: transom liner

It's an anti-marring pad to protect the boat finish from abrasion from the motor. It also makes the contact between boat and motor a bit less stable and I'd rather have the motor have a firm grip. Pads are best for boats that have motors mounted and removed frequently.
