Does anyone have any dimension info for transom mounts. I know their is a standard and riggers use a drilling template but does omc and merc and others use they same pattern or are they all different?

Are current Bomb's the same as older crossflows..

I have a aluminum boat drilled for a 1990-50hp Force and I want to build a staionery jackplate to accept a 79 crossflow. I just want to minimize holes but if newer engines are using the same as the 79 model I may just redrill it. The Force is quite different from the omc>
Thanks in advance

Re: transom mount patterns

They've been the same for all outboards since the early '70s I believe. For Johnny/Rudes it goes way back - my '65 33hp conforms, and I've heard it comes from the original V-4 bolt pattern (after they gave up on clamps!).

Check out 2k's post:

EDIT: Piniongear beat me to it, and with a much nicer offer!
