New here I have a question. I have a 12 ft. Boat kind unknown but I have found rot in transom. The bottom of boat had a large patch covering very thin fiberglass and holes. Poorly done patch job. Is anyone familiar with this type of boat? Is the wood in the transom a small piece of wood in just the center? And is the bottom all one molded piece or are there stringer in Deed? Any help will be appreciated. I wonder if it is even worth the expense.

those are tub style boats. usually filled with foam. if that is the case, its nearly impossible to repair them

take a few more pics from a greater distance getting the whole boat in the pic

well, its not a tub construction. looks like a single shell with 3 flotation seats and a small pad for the outboard

since you cut on the inside of the transom, you should be able to simply cut the inner skin away, make a new transom pad and seal with a few layers of 1708 in about 3-4 hours

then you can spend a few days cleaning the boat.
