The transom on my 16 footer had been repaired when I bought it two years ago....seems that someone had attempted to repair it and cut upper half of splash well and such.... didn't show up till cracking started months after purchase.......now I got good price on boat motor runs like a dream but trying to find way to fix transom more permanent. Have reinforced the inside of the transom with 1/4" plate of aluimium but want to try and brace to stringers in floor of boat but wonder if maybe should just hunt another hull to place motor on any help for my rig?

I used a product called Seacast. It's a fiberglas resin you mix and pour into the transom. It worked as described, and sets up rock hard. Worked well for me. Try www.transomrepair.com

Have you fixed your boat yet? Our technical staff can walk you right thru the repair so you can do it yourself. Seacast replaces wood transoms and stringers in fiberglass boats. It can also be used in aluminum boats. Check us out at www.transomrepair.com
