Transom or Bow Mount?

This may sound silly, but can a transom mount electric be mounted on the bow? I tried it with a 50# Minn-Kota, it mounted but the throttle handle would only face the same way as the prop (or 180 from it). If I must get a bow mount are there any made that can clamp on or do I have to drill holes?

It can be used very effectively. To get the handle pointed toward the boat, remove the head from the shaft, turn it 180 degrees and reattach it.

There should be a simple allen head screw on the base of the head, directly opposite the tiller handle. Undo that, slide the head around, and tighten screw. If you ever go to turn it back, just make sure you turn it the opposite way you turned it the first time. If you turn it the same way over and over, it will twist the wires too much.

Been using one like this on my bowfishing rig for years. I bought a foot switch at wallyworld for 10 bucks and steer with my knee. For my money it cant be beat.

I saw a mount made by Birdsall marine that was designed to mount transum troller on bow.I'm sure there are plenty of other manuf.of similar mounts.
If bow has lip to mount clamps to I don't see that you would need any extra mount.

Good luck
