transom plate pre alpha to alpa 1 gen 1

will a alpha 1 gen 1 inner and outer transom plates work with a pre alpha drive , my motor is a 140 3,0 his was a 4 cylinder 3.7

Ayuh,... It should, but the gear ratios are different....

The 3.0l is gonna be Strugglin'...

not wanting to use the drive just the inner transom plate and outer bell plate as my plates were rotted out beyond use

Ahhh,... You might/ probably will have fitment issues, Inside the boat doin' that...

Lotsa Gotchas in that swap...

i am starting with a fresh transom i just replaced so motors are out already , what are the possible gotchas i will be looking at

That's the problem with "gotchas" you don't know what they are until it hits you.
Without knowing the exact SN of both engines, and transom shields, it's impossible to know what will happen. Unless you have done the swap with the exact same models. Things changed yearly on both the 140 and the 3.7.

There are lots of differences between a MC-1 and an Alpha I

i guess the best thing to do is match both up and see if it will work . the guy that has them is local so no problem there thanks guys with my gotcha problem
