OK I have a 1989(I think) Yar Craft w/ a 125hp force. while replaceing my floor and carpet with new i noticed a crack in the inside fiberglass on the transom, with the wood somewhat soft behind it. Is this fixable or is the boat toast?

You can definately fix it your self, it is a lot of work but worth it when finished in my opinion. Like recommended do a search (on this site) and get ready to do a lot of reading. I re did mine with wood/epoxy/fiberglass method. But have heard really good things about the seacast, I would probably go that route if ever have to do it again on another boat. If you decide to re do it your self make a realistic game plan and timeline and stay commited to finish it. First though make sure you transom is infact bad. A small crack on the inside skin isn't usually good, but check it all out real well before you tear it all apart. There are tons of threads here on how to check for rot.internal damage, etc. Good luck and if you can take pictures of what you have and what you are doing it will GREATLY improve your success everyone loves pictures it helps alot.
