Transom Pulling Away from Deck

I have an old 1972 Thunderbird runabout. The top of the transom is separating and pulling away from the decking, on the right side of the motor well. Looks like the motor weight is doing the pulling. The rest of the transom looks ok, as shown below.

Is there some way to reinforce and secure this section of the transom?

I enclose a pic as an attachment.

Comments very much appreciated

yep....it is......

and dollars to doughnuts....its unsafe.

reinforcing will just cause it to pull away in a different area.

decision time for you.....your choice is....scrap the hull and get another...or fix this one.....

if you fix it....you are talking about adding a new transom......its not tough...actually its fun.

read the compleated projects forum to get an idea of how to and what to expect.....

and by the way.....welcome to i boats !

cheers

Thats how my project started, "its just a little crack".

Transom and stringers were gone to mush.
When it starts to do that its gets worse just from trailering it.

Man is it so much more work to do it wrong.

You need to replace your transom.
