I was looking over my new project and found that the transom is bowed/bent inward a bit, like too large of motor was used, or transported alot w/ outboard bouncing. I'ts bent in to the point I can't even remove the fuel tank! What is the recommended repair for this type of problem? Thanks...hope to have pics soon!

Kunuter welcome to iboats . I would say we really need pics to advise you . I personally would use a deadblow hammer to try to move the transom back in place and then rebuild it .

Re: Transom repair on Alum. boat

My hunch is that the transom is bent inward due to the previous engine striking something hard at a high rate of speed. As the lower unit hits it levers the transom inward. Can't really give advice without seeing pictures
