I have an old 79 Webbcraft with a 898 mercruiser. I have taken it in for a new Bellows replasement, and have been told that everything needs to be replaced. The Transom does not make any noise when running and there is no vibration. Am I getting taken to the cleaners, they want $1,300 and the boat is not worth a whole lot more than that.

Re: Transom repair

Is this something that I can do myself with a transom repair kit? They appear to run around $150. I know there are some special tools required, but if I did the work, could I have someone aline the shaft for final assembly?
