Transom Seal Strip?

Is the seal strip for attaching the outer transom shield to the boat? I was thinking it was a gasket... but can not find any other use for the seal strip in Volvo’s seal kit.

Also, are most of these parts in this kit for the inner transom? I have basically the whole outer transom shield to outdrive taken apart. My transom shield was too corroded and needed replacement. What direction should I go for all new seals and o-rings for reinstallment? I looked up my transom on Volvo and they do include the nipple and water hose for the shield to pivot in a 200$ seal kit. Is this my best option? Thanks

Get the part numbers of the seal strip and everything you need. Then start googling. I just picked up a seal strip for my AQ drive along with a bunch of other parts out of Greese for half the cost i could get sierra parts

I bought one of these aftermarket seal strips and it was absolute junk it was more like a foam rather than a silicon rubber like the stock volvo part
