I have water leaking into the boat from somewhere at the top of the inner transom plate. Last summer I did some maintenance and repairs on our Campion speedboot with Volvo Penta SX-C drive and 3.0 GL motor. During cleaning and polishing I removed some sort of kit around the transom shield, what maybe caused the leakage. I bought the boat some years ago and it was second hand but still looked brand new. Maybe the boat was 'repaired' this way by the previous owner?
Looking into the problem I noticed that the plate is connected to the shield with only 6 nuts. At the top there are two unused holes in the plate. While in an online manual "Volvo Installation Sterndrive Gasoline Engines" I see the plate is connected with 8 nuts.
Is my shield assembly right installed, or are the 2 nuts indeed missing?
