Transom Thru hull

I have 2 thru hulls one at the bottom of the transom no sea **** and the other at the bottom with a sea ****. I am replacing the one on the bottom because the handle broke off. I was wondering should i sea **** the one on the transom as well or is a simple stainless thru hull fitting is enough? In the image below on the right is my current setup for the bottom intake except my pump is threaded directly into the sea ****, i am changing it to the first setup with the base that will be epoxy to the hull.

Do i need to do this for the transom intake?

I like valves on all thru hulls.
