Hi everyone, I need some help, Recently bought a used Zodiac. I brelieve its 11' long. It has a bad transom, The plywood has rotted. It seems to be mounted to the tubes by a formed plastic cuff. The cuff looks like it was heat molded into the plywood ( It flows right through the drill holes in the plywood) Can i get a new transom , If so where? Will it come with the plastic cuffs? Can i debond the old cuffs from the tubes? Any help would be great. Thank you, sam

Re: Transom Troubles

Something from Google.

Question
I have a Zodiac Cadet 340 FR purchased in 2001. The transom has a lot of dry rot so I want to replace it. Are precut transoms available? What glue should I use when I install the new transom?

Answer
Okay...

Here is the transom part number for your 2001 340 FR:
Z-3173

We use Stabond UK-148 for the adhesive. You'll need MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) for surface prep.

Hope that helps,

Re: Transom Troubles

If you need to reglue transom holder to tubes, besides transom to holder + lower transom floor fabric, this is a hell of a job if wanting perfection, take to a repair facility that knows their job, to remove old glue can take an eternity smelling all those harmfull chemicals.
