Hi all,

I have a Chrysler 4hp sea king motor and planning to transport it on the bed of my truck. The motor will be on it's back. Is this bad for the motor? Will it leak oil, will the gas flood the engine, etc... Thanks.

That's how manufacturer intended. The carry handle is on the front of engine.

Best to run the gas in the carb out first. No oil to leak, and the lower unit is sealed.
BUT any 4 stroke will have somewhere on the motor, a picture or warning to only lay it on one side. There will usually be lugs on that side to keep it from rocking.

Is it a built-in tank? if so probably need to drain it first.

I have a 60's vintage 6hp 'rude traveled many miles in car trunks & pickup beds lying on the tiller arm...don't know about the shape of yours, but this one wouldn't be stable enough on her back, and the shifter lever on the other side isn't beefy enough to carry the weight but the tiller is tough.

Thanks all for the repy. The motor has a built in gas tank with a switch to turn off the gas next to my carb. I will use up the gas in the carb and turn off the gas.
