Tricky Transducer Mount. Anybody creative enough?

So i have a 14' aluminum boat and a have a mountable transducer for a depth finder.

Now, I -could- just mount it like a normal person. But, I do a lot of fishing up near a spillway with a lot of rocks. Basically, I do a lot of bumping into rocks with the boat. Not terribly hard, of course, but enough to potentially break my transducer.

I want a way to have it down when I'm driving (10 hp motor, so not too terribly fast) but also the ability to pull it out of the water to safety at ease.

A couple options I've considered are finding a suction cup such as the ones on portable transducers and somehow mounting it to that. This would be perfect, but, I can't seem to find anything fitting. I've also considered finding an old broken trolling motor and mounting it to the frame so I can move it up or down. This might work but I know my current trolling motor causes drag and spraying so this probably isn't ideal. Does anybody have any creative ideas that didn't occur to me? Even knowing of any special sort of clamp that would allow me to use something thinner than a trolling motor bar to hold it down might help...

Thanks in advance!

some kind of mounting that involves a hinge or knuckle that will allow you to move it into position then a lock down of some kindto hold it.

or like i have on my gate in the back, a rod that moved up and down in two holders so the gate don't swing with a lock down. if you need diagrams or part names let me know, it might take 10 minutes of research but i know what i'm looking for.

What brand is your depth finder?

I use this suction cup with my Lowrance...and it works at any speed.

Dangit! I just threw this bracket setup away. The garbage man beat you by a day or two. If i'd have seen this sooner i'd have just sent it to you. Anyway, maybe you'll like the concept. Its a bracket with a stiff wire that lets you raise the bracket a few inches within the uhmw (white plastic) guides on the transom when you run or are in shallow water. there is a bead on top of the wire that you slide over in the top bracket to keep it raised and then drop the bracket with the wire when you lower it. It's really simple. Maybe you can fab one up.
