Re: trigger assy?

You gotta do better than that with a discription of what it is. I have a 45 that has a trigger, no throttle though

Re: trigger assy?

That is on an outboard motor. Might post in the outboard forum, you will get better results.

Re: trigger assy?

Ahhhhh Yes, the Mercury Sport Jet 90's and 120's. Yep, they are outboard powerheads stuck on a jet pump inside the boat.
It's still an outboard powerhead, and Force is part of Mercury.

Re: trigger assy?

He posted it's an 89... Could it be an "L" drive?

It creates a low voltage signal to the "switchbox" to fire the individual coils.

DonS
he could have a bayliner with an L drive :) no thems fun :)
boiater dude.
tell us what make the hull is. tell us if it has a "leg" with a propeller. tell us if it is 3 or 4 cyl. and tell us what color the ign coils are. I actually still have my L drive manual. I almost threw them away when I tossed all my OMC stringer manuals. but its sitting over on the book shelf

Re: trigger assy?

The trigger is one part of an outboard ignition system. Basically, the trigger, stator, flywheel, and switch boxes all work together to create spark to the plugs at the proper time.
I think I have some better info to help explain it..... If I can find it.

Re: trigger assy?

rodbolt
I've led a sheltered life and have never seen an L drive. Seen pictures and heard tales but no contact with one. And from other comments, that's a good thing :D
