trim and tilt Solenoid

i think i need a new one, I took the wire that goes to the trim/tilt and put it on the + on the battery and it will move up or down depending on which color I put on there.
my question is do you think that is what I need?
it has 4 posts, so anyone know if they have different voltages?
the one post the nut holding thewires on is rusted, so im thinking its bad?
Please let em know what you guys think

Sorry to add, what is happening, my t/t used to go up and down, then for some reason it stopped, I checked and I am not getting power to the blue or green on the t/t side of the solenoid, but i am on the other side

sorry im not sure if i can answer your problem but instead i have one of my own since im having similar trouble to you. I just bought the boat and my wiring going to my trim is cut and diabled and im unsure of how it is wired. I have a post in here a few down describing my problem. My moat is close to the same age so i was wondering if you may be able to help. TY and gl, chris

i guess i dont knowwhere you need help, do you have any wires coming fro the tilt/trim? or are they gone?

does the wire coming from your tilt trim go directly into you solenoid box with the screw down top on it?
