Trim and Tilt wiring help please

My 12 year old grandson and I are restoring a 1984 sea ray and I believe it is a monarch but I am not sure.
Any way it has a 260/VB mercruiser. The tilt button works up and down fine but the wires coming in the boat from behind for the ( I believe they are called trim and the other one tilt) there is no place inside the boat to wire these so the tilt meter will work. I have looked at the mercruiser manuals but none of the show my setup. Can anyone please tell be in a way I can understand where I am to put these wires. I know on each unit one wire is a ground but I do not know what color of wires to hook the other wires to, No wiring diagram really shows me that I can understand. This boat also has 2 solenoids I believe one is to tilt up and the other is to tilt down. One is over top the other.
I am 65 and would sure like to know where to wire the trim and tilt to. A man at the only boat shop ion my area says for 350 dollars I can bring the boat to him and he will wire them. Way out of my price range!
I am 65 and an answer to my question would be greatly appreciated.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... 1 of 'em is the trim sender, for the gauge, 'n the other is the trim limit switch,.....

The up button is wired through the limit switch, so it'll go up to the trim limit, then another button is used for tilt,.....

The gauge uses 2 wires, which run Through the trim sender,... No ground connections on either one,.....

Regarding your question
Can anyone please tell be in a way I can understand where I am to put these wires.

I have a similar engine 1983 -- the trim and limit wires from the senders on the outdrive ( these look like black lamp cord ) connect to the front of the engine above the fuel pump near the fuel filter -- near the red button on the breaker their are color coded wires -- The prints will list the colors // I do not have them memorized. They all feed up to the dashboard. Sender is for the gage and the switch to the input trim up button ckt.

the trim limit is wired to the trim pump, the trim sender goes to the front of the engine goes to a plastic block and ground

see page 5A-60 and 5A-61 in here, for the trim sender wire your looking for a tan wire near the left side of the motor when facing the motor , post a pic of this area

My bad -- Doc's correct as usual -- only the sender is on the engine front.
