:confused:i have a 1990,225 johnson that has been sitting for 5 years on a 22 hydra sport.trim -tilt was working but would come up slow and go down fast. had boat out just once. next time i went to go out i hit the switch up to unlock motor it sounded like i had a dead battery. went to charge batt. it was full charged. put batt. back in and now trim -tilt does not work at all.i checked with a test light to see if i had power on both sides of relays .yes relays seem to be working and i can hear them click.

Re: trim and tilt

Checking with a test light will not tell you the relay is good. The internal contacts of the relay may be pitted allowing only a reduced contact surface. There may be enough current getting through to power the light, but not enough to power the pump. Better to bypass the relay by jumping across it with a cable. That will better allow you to determine if the problem is with the motor or the relay/connections. Make sure all connections (including ground connections) are clean and tight.
