Hello ALCON,
In an attempt to remove the trim cylinder hose from the trim cylinder, I was successfully able to strip the top part of the connector that the wrench fits on  . With that being said, Can someone tell me what type of connector it is so I can replace it? I am not looking to replace the entire hose as there is nothing wrong with it and the hose costs $41.33 (http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show...=220&bdesc=TRIM+CYLINDERS+AND+HYDRAULIC+HOSES) were the connector should be $5.00 or less. I have the connector flaring tool (http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Tools-Garage-and-Equipment/Flaring-Tool/_/N-2658) so putting a new connector on and reflaring it will not be an issue.

Ayuh,... It's the same size, 'n thread as standard automotive brake lines, but not SSteel....

I'd just buy the Right line, 'n be done with it...

Re: Trim Cylinder Hose Connector(s)

just out of curiosity, why not Stainless Steel? Mine does not have any copper look to it. So is it regular steel then?

Just curious.

TIA,

Re: Trim Cylinder Hose Connector(s)

Well…after much reluctance, I broke down and had to buy the entire thing as Bond-O mentioned. The double flaring tool does not have enough clearance on the tube to create a new double flare once the flare has been cut off.

The positive is, is that I did not have to pay the $41.33 as mentioned. I found it at http://www.shop.tungstenmarine.com/...ercruiser-NEW-DESIGN-TM2103.htm?categoryId=-1 for $18.95 + $4.00 S/H.

TIA,
Gary
