Great forum people! Have an 80's 120 merc with alpha one drive. Starboard trim cylinder is junk (corroded, leaking oil.) Removed it and I need a replacement but can't find a part number on it. Do I need a number or how do I match it up? thanks in advance

They make to many different designs to guess which ones you have. Can you post some pics of the rams, of get the serial number?

Re: Trim cylinder

Is it the cylinder, or seal leaking? There are reseal kits and end caps can be bought too. I don't think it's really worth it if the tube needs to be replaced. I did a reseal awhile back...turned out to be pretty easy.

Re: Trim cylinder

There were 2 different trim cylinders used......

1 is Very Round looking, with 2 Equal Hyd. lines.......They're a 1" piston ram.....
These are available from NAPA auto parts,....Also seen on ebay All the Time......

The other is a somewhat sculptured looking body, with 2 Different Length Hyd. lines,....
They're a 1, 1/4" piston ram,+ Much harder to find.......

I Believe you Probably have the 1st 1s......
