It does not work correctly. It is getting power because when I turn it on it always goes to up. Of course, I know this is not correct. What type of sensor should I be looking for? I have some experience dealing with certain up and down indications. Then I had a manual. I know, I know I should have already got one, but I'm lazy and cheap.

I have a 79 mark twain with a 305 and a pre alpha mercruiser stern drive. Any help I would appreciate.
