Ran boat on a Saturday. On Sunday, I attempted to start the engine got an EVC failure message followed by message that trim was too high to start the engine. The EVC display read 156 degree trim tilt and the analog gauge showed the trim in the full up position. However, the outdrive was actually all the way down. The trim motor does not function to raise or lower the outdrive. I would like to take the boat to a marine mechanic. Is there a way I can override or bypass this safety feature and get the engine started?
