Wash.... Does the needle stay pegged if you trim the engine back in? Also, if you leave the engine at whatever position it's in when the needle first pegs, then turn the engine off, then restart it, does the meter then read properly or does it stay pegged?<br /><br />Normally, the needle only pegs if the sensor wire on the back of the gauge (usually white) is grounded. Since that white wire is connected to the sender, that makes me think that the internal workings of the sender might be faulty.<br /><br />I am assuming by the above that all of your wiring is wired correctly.
