Hi guys. First I just wanted to say that I have enjoyed reading some post on the forum.. Everything has been really helpful. I am a new boater and could use a little help. We got an '95 Bayliner Capri 1950 about two weeks ago. The first time we went out I started to put the boat in and the motor wouldnt go down. Ended up going home and took the hoses off the trim pump to test the pump. When I pushed the trim botton hydrolic fluid squirted out. So then I unhooked the hoses from the outboard area and let them drain a little and then attached everything and it worked fine. We went out yesterday and about to drop the boat in and it did it again. So on the boat I unhooked from the trim pump again and squirted some out and then attached again and it worked fine. Went out on the boat for a while and it performed great.. Put the boat back on the trailer and just wanted to see if the motor would go back down after being raised all the way up to pull it in and it didnt go down again. At first after i removed the hoses and it worked i thought maybe there was just trash build up and maybe it got drained out. I have no experience at this and would really appreciate any help. Thanks again..

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... When you try to trim down, do ya hear the pump runnin',..??

When ya run it Up, when do ya quit,..??
If it's when the pump Labors, tap the down button a couple of times to relieve the over-load condition against the valving...

Re: Trim help

Thank you. Yes when I try and lower it the pump is running.. When I took the hoses off i pushed the trim button up and down to see if the pump would atleast squirt hydrolic fluid out and it did on both, up and down. When I noticed that it wouldnt go down I did hold the trim down button down countinuesly but didnt tap it a few times. I was wondering if I just am raising it to high and maybe it is getting a little lodged. Because as soon as I unhooked the hoses the pressure went out and the motor started to lower and then I put the back on and it works fine.
