Hello have a 1997 Johnson J60TLEDR trim quit working. I’m kinda lost trying to troubleshooting this issue. When all three are pushed you can hear clicking in two relays. Jumped wire from battery to blue and green wire and motor will go up but not down. Touch the green and has a dead short. My question is if a relay is bad will it cause it to short out? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Alvin

You have proven that there is nothing wrong with the trim motor as it goes up and down...-----Look for other wiring issues.

Took both decks off and found nothing wrong with wires jumped blue wire motor goes up jump green wire it’s like a dead short switched the relays then when you jump blue dead short and jump the green the motor goes down could this be a bad relay?
