just wondering if there is something that will only let you trim so high when running wot, sunday I was running at 63mph at 5500rpm's and no matter how much I tried I could not get it to go higher? thanks in advance
The trim cylinder rams only allow a certian amount of trim up before the tilt cylinder rams take over for tilting the motor. The tilt cylinder rams are not designed to take the force of a motor's forward thrust above a certian rpm (like 2000 or so). They will either not move or just settle back down to the trim cylinder rams. In order to trim higher the trim/tilt assembly needs to be relocated out farther (if possible) or install some shims on the motor to tilt it out more.

What type of motor do you have? Some systems are different but work basically the same.
I'm running a 1991 Johnson Fastrike 150hp on a Ranger 374V she runs strong with a full tourney load and 2 200lb guys full gas tanks and livewells 63mph at 5500rpm's
