Trim line fitting leak

I have a Volvo SX-M outdrive with a power trim leak on the port side. It appears to be leaking where the rigid metal line goes through the flare nut/fitting that screws into the cylinder. If I wiggle the line it is visably loose between those two than my other lines, but I seems to be screwed into the cylinder fairly tight. Do you think this a bad line/fitting or is it likely just a failed O ring?
Thanks in advance

not sure it has an o-ring . . . usually flange tube fittings do not. I would back off the flare nut for inspection. Corrosion make have taken out the flange fitting.

I had looked at the schematics for the system and there are small o rings on each line connection to the cylinders. I just opened it up for inspection and found that O ring was degraded. Ran down to the hardware store and found a matching size ring for 23 cents, installed and tightened it all up. Topped off the fluid and cycled up and down 6 times. All looks good and hose connection is more solid, so I think that is all that it was. Does anyone know if the VP oem O ring is special in any way or will my hardware store ring work just fine? I can certainly order the factory ring but that little sucker will cost me 12 bucks with shipping! Thanks

Nice work . . . :thumb:

Yes, the factory o-ring is probably $10 vs. 23 cents :D
