I am looking at changing the trim motor on my 130, 1998 Johnson. I can see three bolts but if there is a fourth it looks impossible to get at. I have not been able to find the correct part number for my motor, J130txacb. I'm hoping for a three bolt model, but it don't look good..

If there is a fourth bolt will I be able to remove it?

Sometimes it is easier to unbolt the motor and hang it away from the transom with a cherry picker or a come-a-long You really are going to be best suited with full access If you go to shopevinrude.com and look it up in the parts catalog you will also see exploded drawings & part numbers

That motor looks to have the whole PTT unit held on by two rods. If you remove the rods, the entire PTT unit can go on the bench for repair. You will likely need to pull the PTT power wires out of the connector, to get them thru a hole in the transom bracket. Just remember the position they were in. If you want to change the PTT motor, you will need to do that anyway.

Beware ! If you decide to remove the pins you may have to use some heat and a big brass drift.
