Trim motor running but not engaging trim rams

I recently purchased a 2007 bayliner 175 with the 3.0 and the alpha 1 gen 2 drive. We just got back from the lake and needdd to trim down the drive. The trim motor will run. Sounds like winding up. But the trim rams do not move. The fluid reservoir looked a little low so I topped it off with hydraulic fluid. Still just motor running when I press the trim button but not movement. Any ideas? Thanks!

There are filter screens and solenoids to switch fluid direction. Clean all your contacts first. Then disassembly and cleaning. I would think you have an electrical problem if the pump runs but the oil isn't going to rams

Thanks. If the motor runs when the trim buttons are pressed would that mean the solenoids are good? Does this sound like the pump is bad and needs rebuilt?

Update:
I pulled the trim motor/pump assembly out of the boat and disassembled it. Took the pump off and opened it up and looked at the gears and bearings and everything else over. Didn’t see anything broken so I reassembled it, and reinstalled it. Hooked it back to the battery and it ran fine. Up and down, no problems. Maybe it just had a small piece of trash in it.

Could have been a bit of dirt in one of the load-holding check valves
