Had to replace the t n t motor on my '82 evinrude 150. The new motor works, raising/lowering the ob but then cuts out. If I push the switch I hear the relays clicking but no motor movement. After 10-15 seconds the motor will start but then cut out again. This will happen 4-5 times up or down! Wired the new motor directly to the battery thus by passing both the switch and relays. Same results. Then removed the pin holding the piston to the ob to relieve any resistance. Same results! I believe I have bleed the system correctly and the pump is full of transmission fluid. Feeling that the new motor was defective, I removed it. Just for the heck of it i took it and wired directly to the battery. Now it spins like there is no tomorrow! Its a 2 wire motor. Can I possibly have TOO MUCH fluid in the pump? Could it actually be a bad motor? Am I overlooking something?
