Trim on Volvo Penta 431 A DP Outdrive

I'm having trouble with my trim guage - I've got it so that it will register halfway and if I manually slide the sensor strip it will up but not go any lower than halfway.

I bought a new potentiometer and it does the same thing.

Any ideas?

follow the manual and set it properly.

the DPA drive you have should have a tooth on the star wheel that has a notch. that tooth goes into the first tooth receiver on the segment strip.

Yes, that's how I have it but it still won't go below halfway on the trim guage - I'm wondering if the relay isn't the right one? (or does that not matter.)

Also, at times, the up trim won't work unless the trailering button is pressed. At times it will work as normal up to the limit and then I have to push the trailering button. (this is how it should work)
