Trim only go down unless switch wire then only up

My trim will only go down no mater what switch you go to on the boat. You hit up and nothing. There is 2 plugs in the wires under the cowling where you can disconnect them from where it goes to the switch on the motor so I disconnected them and swopped them. Then the trim would go up if you hit down on the switches but up still did nothing. I took the battery off the boat a couple weeks ago and just put it back on, is there a possibility there is a wire down there I didn't see to connect back up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a 1993 175hp Mariner.

This probably needs to be in the OB section, but the OB trim works the same as the IO. Find your relays, there should be two of them. With it only going down and not up, look for the trim limit switch, it may be bad.
