I have a MCM 200 (305cu'' 8cyl) mercruiser with an alpha I drive. I need to replace the trim position sensor (port side) and I noticed the wiring goes through the transcom in a tight area. I have the manuals for my motor and drive on cd (mercruiser editions) but can't seem to figure out if I need to remove the drive to replace the sensors. I can get at the sensors themselves no problem but fishing the wiring looks difficult? Anyones help/experiences are appreciated.

Re: Trim position & Trim Limit sensor replacement

Yes, you have to pull the drive, and the instructions are in manual #6 for your Alpha I drive. Section 4 covers the replacement.
Below is a link to the instructions for changing the trim sender and trim limit switchs. Kind of all in the same place.
