Trim Problems

[SGT S USMC]

Hello all! I'm a newbie boater. I bought my first boat a month ago. It's a 1988 Searay Seville cuddy 20ft. I'm having a problem with my trim, I can push the button down and it works (bow down) but as soon as I try to go up (bow up) nothing happens. I replaced the switch and the solenoid. Please can someone help?

What engine and drive? Doesn't really matter what type boat in this forum, it's all about which engine and drive.

it's a 4.3L 205hp mercrusier in/out board.

Is it hydraulic or electic.

I want to say electric, I have a pump with 30 weight.

Since the above link is for a 1997 Gen II pump, maybe you would like to read something a little closer to your year.
Go up to the Adults only sticky at the top of this forum. Download the Merc service manual for your drive and trim system. (#6 is the one you want)
Then go to section 2 it covers troubleshooting the trim system. In detail, with wiring diagrams.
