trim pump issue

When i push the buttons for the trim it doesnt click or do anything so i had a jumper wire on the positive terminal and on another terminal and it only clicked and i hooked it up to a different terminal and it didnt do anything so what should i do?

I would start by checking the electrical connections all the way to the battery.

verify you have power with a volt meter

Check the solenoids they might be bad. Also, check if the pump works.

verify you have power with a volt meter

this.......after you verify u have power, if still nothing......check your trim button/wire connections,, maybe that's shot...

1) when's last time it worked?
2) age of unit?

in my case, I replaced trim motor last year as it finally gave out....mine was clicking away and no movement, got away with giving the motor a whack with a wrench as sometimes old unit motors stick.. that's a sign they are on the way out... mine was 30 years old... was costly, but now new....good luck
