Hello,

I'm looking to repair my trim pump, but I dont know where to start. The pump works, but leaks down real quick. I dont know if it worth trying to repair or if they even make a kit for it. I dont know what to look for when looking for parts or a replacement. Are they engine\boat specific? It is on a 1988 bayliner trophy bass with a force 125hp. Could someone please help me with what I should be looking for? If there is a kit or parts I would rather repair it.

Its leaking from one of the ports that the line connects to. Ive cleaned it, tightened it and even put a dab of liquid thread sealant on it. Still leaks.

If it was JB welded how did you have it rebuilt? That stuff is rock solid american steel. I might do that though, only keeping this boat for the rest of the summer.

Re: trim pump repair help

How can I tell if my pump is the original force pump, or one of those chinese knocks? From what I here the original pumps are almost bullet proof. If I were to JB weld anything I wouldnt want to do it to the original, if its worth rebuilding. If its already been replaced with a knock off I couldn't care less, it will just be a temp fix anyhow. Just for this summer.

More than likley it's original.RRitt still rebuilds the pumps not the electric motor(I think).
A thread chaser might help with the seal????
They are selling them on e-bay for $90 Not sure of the quality??
From what RRitt says rebuild the old.

Who is RRitt? Is that a member here? What does it cost to rebuild? How long is the turn around? I know the quality is crap but I can get a chinese pump and motor for about $150. That would get me by for this season.
