Sorry for the second post, but figured i should separate this question with last question.

Starboard trim pump (Newer Olidyne version with plastic reservoir) with work great in trim up or out position. Try to get drive down or in, and it will not go down, but the pump is making a high pitch squealing noise. If i switch the hydraulic lines at the trim pump, i can get the drive to go down just fine, but will not come back up. If I would switch hydraulic lines back to normal, drive will trim up, but not down... What does it mean when the trim pump will works this way? Is the down valve stuck or plugged internally in the trim pump? If so, can I fix the valve, or have to replace the whole unit?

Once again, this is on a Wellcraft Monte Carlo with twin 4.3L and alpha one gen one drives.

Switch the lines as in the hydraulic lines or the power wires?

Can anyone help? Does this sound like a pump problem or trim cylinder problem?

Ayuh,... The Problem, is the trim rams, or drive pivots are bindin' up,... Terribly....

Drive pivots are fine and free moving. Why do the rams work well when i switch the hydraulic lines around? What about the high pitch squealing and sound of free wheeling from the trim pump when trying to put the drive down?

Thanks for responding! It can be tough at times to get some responses on here.

Ayuh,... The pump has a hi-pressure side, 'n a lower pressure side...

My guess is the trim ram caps are corroded 'round the rod...

I was just wondering if you have fixed this problem. I am currently having the same issue with a single solenoid trim system on a 79 invader with a 140 hp four cyl.

Welcome aboard JC, you need to start a thread of your own with your problem. You have a different pump and drive set up from this thread, so even if he did fix his, it may have nothing to do with what your problem is.
