Has anyone had their trim pump squeal like a farm animal but still work properly? Not continuously just on and off... more on than off

Before I start digging into old posts and reading manuals I figured I would post and see if I am missing something obvious

just a dry bronze bushing, very easy to take the motor apart, clean and lube everything

Turns out its full of crud and milky oil. The trim rams show no signs of leaking but I found clear water in the fill cap and the o ring that holds the tank on was ripped. I think its possible its rain water made its way into the tank. It always had oil oozing around the bottom of the tank and it is directly under one of the vents.

Anybody see anything like I am describing?

I just found the same thing in mine. My rams do not seem to have a leak anywhere so I'm thinking it's just old oil and when I wash my boat and then pick up the engine hood a lot of water falls right on the trim motor and container. I'mgoing to suction alltheoldout and replaceand see what happens.

If you want to put a new reservoir on, just get the 'C' reservoir for an Oildyne 108 pump from a Parker-Oildyne dealer. Cost me $60 in Australia, so it should only be around $25 in the US... Merc want over $200 for it.
