I have a 1995 seadoo xp. It has the trim but I don't think it works. When I push the button, should I hear the motor? My first outing on it I had a passenger and the bottom was very low unless I was going a decent speed. How can I tell if its bad and is there anyway to level it out manually and just not worry sbout fixing it?

Re: Trim question

Check all the connections by the switch, it happened to me last summer and I was wondering why it was taking me so long to plane. Have someone see if its moving if it in the water, but you should be able to hear it.

Opps I didn't realize you were talking about a waverunner, what I wrote may or may no be correct then, good luck

Re: Trim question

There should be a black plastic housing in the back of the ski that holds the trim motor. The housing will usally get water/moisture in it and stop working. Try pulling the cover and making sure everything is dry in there. I had a 97 xp, made sure everything was a dry and it started working again. Hope this helps.

Re: Trim question

You will not be able to hear the trim motor while it is in the water. Just plug in the key when it is on the trailer and hit the trim button and see if it moves up and down.
