Hi everyone, I have just fitted my trim sender to a VP 4.3GL 1997.
Fed the leads through the hole in the stern and put the plug into the hole, applied wire clip and routed cables to plug.
I have read somewhere that I should have applied a gasket sealant to the rubber plug before fitting it but I have not, so I thought I would try and get it out again but it won't move at all. Do I need to seal or is it OK? The spare plug next to it is not sealed so I hoping not.
Any thoughts??

Also do I need the special VP insaller tool (3854349-2) to fit the wires into the engine plug??

Re: Trim sender fitting

No sealer necessary.
Not sure about NOT using the tool for the wire, I have always had one and used it.

Re: Trim sender fitting

Is it just a case of trimming the leg fully down, turning the sender to get a down reading on the gauge and then screwing it in allowing for fine adjustments?
