Trim sender help

So my trim gauge stipped working but when i take the sender off the housing and turn it by hand the gauge works fine but when i bolt it back upit doesnt work. Its like the gears are not getting turned when i raise or lower the trim. So sense i can turn it by hand and it works fine im sure the sender and gauge are good. Anyone had this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks

the sender has a hex that fits into the hinge pin. either the hex is broken or the hinge pin is very, very loose

So thats what i was thinking that the hinge pin is loose. How to i check it or tighten it?

a 1/2 inch allen wrench or the hinge pin tool

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... Pull the sender off, tighten the pin, put the sender back on,.....
