trim sender question

sorry if this is a repost, new to site and couldnt find another. i have a 2003 ranger with a mercury 115 outboard 4cyl engine, was on the water last week and trim gauge worked fine when at boat ramp and until key switched back off. when turned key back on, the gauge was not set where it always has been, it showing to high now, still working when engine is trimmed up and down but not at the correct setting. the water and air temps were both in the high 40s (not sure if matters or not). my question is, is there a way to set the gauge or does this mean the sender has gone bad. Thanks for any help. detjvb206@yahoo.com

Re: trim sender question

There is no gauge adjustment. You have either a bad connection (most likely) or a bad or stuck sender.
