I think my 2-wire sender has gone bad, but before I pluck down $150 for a new one I'd like to get a reality check from you folks. I completely disconnected the sender from the boat wiring. I put my ohm meter across the black and brown wires and no matter where I move the control I get an open circuit. Seems to me that proves it's bad. Or did I miss something? Thanks in advance to all.

If you unplugged the pigtail behind the motor, and tested there. There might be a chance that the wires have been cut down toward the sender, and that you could check lower and maybe splice the wires . The pigtail setup can be a bugger to get to and replace. Make sure when you replace them to tie them up out of the way. Good luck Dave-R

Good idea checking the wires to the sensor. I'll do that before buying a new one. Thanks!
