I have read most of the posts regarding faulty wiring to these senders and lengthy proccess involved i.e removing the drive etc... for the last year like some I have been driving by the seat of me pants when it comes to trimmimg the engine, not a problem in itself but i was wondering if there would be issues with rerouting the wires via the transom and straight into the senders........any ideas

as long as it does not interfere with drive motion the electrons wont care.

Re: Trim sender wire modifications

The biggest problem is right where the wires attach to the sender, not so much the wires themselves.
I have seen wires damaged by people with pressure washers burning through the wire insulation (and burning holes in the bellows) and that will happen just as easy on the outside of the transom shield.
It would also look kind of hokey in my opinion.
But, like rodbolt says, the electricity doesn't care how it gets there.

Maybe I'm a "simplist" but adding more holes to the transom just doesn't seam wise to me. You already have holes for the existing wires....adding more for the new route just seams to be asking for more problems.
