1971 starcraft with 120 GM and mercruiser sterndrive. This unit does not have the sender on the bell that I can see. Any help with location and trim limit switchs appreciated.

assuming it's a mc-1 like mine (which i think it is). the sending unit is a long cylindrical looking device.

in the pic, it's the thing mounted highest, in between the trim pump and the inner gimble housing. it's behind the stern light pole...

the pic is of a '72 L6 minus the L6..

the trim limit switch will be mounted on the gimble ring. on the outside of the boat. dead center top of the gimble ring. on the under side. the bell housing has a flat on it. the switch has a roller ball on it. the ball rides on the flat on the bell housing.

Here's a little clearer picture of the trim sender unit. It is on the back wall top center in the picture. Has two plastic hydraulic lines attached to it (low pressure down side).
