I pulled trim sending unit off my 1995, 115 HP Mariner, to verify that sending unit was bad. I used a drift pin/hammer to move slotted end of cross pin in slightly (sending unit tab did not want to go back into slot freely). Now the cross pin wants to work out of the opposite side of the motor bracket as motor is lowered/raised.
What holds this pin in place to bracket/tilt cylinder shaft? Did I damage some kind of retainer when I moved the cross pin?
