Hey I am new to the whole I/O thing and was wondering where my trim should be set for optimum take off and WOT ?? It does not seem to want to get onto plane with 6 ppl in it with trim all the way down, but will with 2 or 3??

Re: Trim Settings??

Generally, all down is best to come up on plane. 6 PPL is a lot of butt and will make a lot of difference, depending on your boat size and HP. After you are on plane, then you have to adjust trim and watch the spedo for max speed. Trim setting will depennd on your load distribution. Average trim setting for light to med load planed out (WOT), not front heavy, would be with the cavitation plate parallel with the boat bottom or up slightly. I set my outdrive with the cavitation plate parallel with the bottom and then adjust the trim sender to make the trim gauge line up with the middle mark. That way I know exactly where I am. Depending on load and speed, you just have to play with it. Hope this helps.

For any boat start with the trim all the way in... Take off and as soon as the bow starts to drop start trimming out until you are most comfortable...All boats are different and ride different at different trim settings but for mine it is usually about a 1/4 of the way trimmed out, and a little more if people are ridding on the bow seats...

yep take that thing off. Nauticus Smart Tabs for $120 would permanently solve all your problems. seriously, best money ever spent. lightning fast plane times, better skiing/towing, better cruising in choppy water, etc.
